8 Months

These months just keep flying by much to fast!

This month she has:
Learned to crawl on all four
Trying to pull herself up onto things
Actually started eating solids, she loves banana, pumpkin and mango. Hates sweet potato, is allergic to avocado, and refuses to eat green beans.
She loves crawling around and getting into power cords, eating random lint off the ground when I'm not looking.
She stills weighs just under 15 lbs and is wearing 3-6 month clothes.

7 Months

This little one had quite the month:

This last month has been a fun one, we took a trip to Montana and played with cousins and in the water. Mae is almost getting a hang of sitting up! She has even been getting on her knees to make crawling motions, and started doing the cutest little baby planks!

These past two weeks have also been sad though. I thought Mae was teething, she was fussy, feverish, not sleeping well, and coughing up mucus. It continued to get worse until she was wheezing for air and I finally realized she was really sick. I took her to the doctors right away and found out she had pneumonia and an ear infection. We stayed at the doctors for 2 hours getting treatments to help her lungs and to fight the infection. They sent us home with a breathing mask to be used every 4 hours day and night, which was very exhausting for both of us since she hated it. And both of us had been used to sleeping through the night lately. We also found out she has some medicine allergies! But even though she was so sick she kept smiling at us non stop. Seriously the happiest baby!! She could not catch a break but after 2 weeks of being sick she is finally getting better.

She also learned to sit and starting scooting and half crawling all over the place. As you can tell in the following pictures she was on the move!!

6 Months

I have such a beautiful little girl!

Her new talents:
Sucking her thumb
Rolling over
Scooting around? (never seen but keeps being found in different locations!)
She loves to stand
She loves sucking her toes
She tried solids for the first time today and loved them
She can pass toys from one hand to the other and get them off the ground

I can't believe how fast she keeps growing, I'm loving every second of motherhood!
Okay... maybe I have second that aren't the best but I love the whole experience!

Mae meets Sweet Potatoe

I feel so sad about Mae turning 6 months, it makes me worry I haven't treasured these sweet baby moments enough. Why do little ones grow so fast!?

Mae has been reaching for our food for weeks so I finally gave in and let her try some solids. We tried sweet potato and she was so happy about it and seamed to really like them. She did really well to and munched and swallowed it all!

The past six months, full of growth!
And she loves her teddy!

Peggies Cove and Motherhood

I should really be posting more photos from this wonderful trip but it just isn't going to happen. My life is a tad crazy at the moment. But we went to Nova Scotia (yes that is in
Canada not it's own country haha! and yes I'v been asked that!) for my brothers wedding. It was stunning, wonderful and amazing. It was also a rough trip with a two day lay over and a very sad little baby girl of mine.

But it was all worth it to see my family and also to visit such a stunning part of my home land.

I am currently working two very part time jobs and working my butt off all day everyday sewing for my etsy shop The Golden Polka Dot. Not to mention I have a little daughter who needs my attention. Somehow I got all swept up in this idea of being successful and busy and now that I'm in the middle of it I'm realizing I just want to be a simple someone at home making funny faces at my daughter. Watching her grow much to fast and not wanting to miss a single moment of it.

The Golden Polka Dot

I'm sure many of you already know but I started my own etsy shop recently. We just listed some really wonderful stuff! Headbands, bow ties, and waterproof bandana bibs. I started this a couple months ago and am loving building my own business. Take a look at my shop.

Below is just a small selection of what we have available in the shop!

These can be made one size fits all for mother and daughter to share and will grow with your child!

Cutest Canadian

Guess who is super happy about officially being a Canadian!! Little Miss Mae!!
It was really important for me to know that Mae had both her citizenships. So this makes me super happy, I hope she will always love her Canadian heritage.
Taylor calls her our little mud blood! Those who know Harry Potter will get that ;)

5 Months

This little girl is 5 months old today. Also I realize I can't spell the word month or as I spell it mothns but guess what, hopefully you didn't even notice cuz she's so cute!! It is crazy how times goes by so fast, but at the same time I can't imagine a time without Mae in our lives. She is really filling out, she looks huge compared to her one month photos. She has lots of nice rolls and a plump round face that I kiss a million times a day.

She...
loves to stand
usually sleeps for 6 hours straight at night
love chatting it up at night
little wiggly worm
love to try and roll over but can't seam to get her arm out of the way
she loves to eat her feet
she whines when we kiss her toooo much which happens often
she has figured out how to wiggle to a different spot on the floor not far though
she is super smiley and giggly when we play with her

Big update is she started teething, yikes, she is a little fussy. Always rubbing her gums together or with toys, drooling like crazy. I'm sure we won't see any actual teeth for a while but the process has started!

Mae was having what our paediatrician thought might be seizures, at first we weren't too worried about them but after two months she 2 in one day. So off to the pediatric neurologist we went, he said she looked perfectly healthy but wanted to do an EEG to make sure her brain was functioning properly.  It was a pretty intense test, they hooked her up to 22 electrodes and then let her sleep and at the end put a strobe light in front of her face to try and induce weird brain activity or a seizure. All her tests came back perfectly normal so for now we are going to keep enjoying our perfect little daughter and follow up with the specialist if the episodes get more intense.

This little Piggy

Mae found her toes last week and I just love watching her play with them. She loves trying to get them in her mouth, so far only successful once but I'm sure soon she'll literally put a foot in her mouth! I love her so much in hurts my heart, I have been so weepy these past few days thinking about a fellow blogger who lost her son. Every moment with this little ones counts and I feel so blessed to have the time that I do with her. I have a hard time not being afraid she might be taken away from me too soon. I pray that doesn't happen and my heart goes out to all who have experienced a loss like that.
