Breech Baby

There is so much information about breech babies and what to try to do to turn them. We did lots of crazy things to encourage our little girl to flip. I found the whole process a bit much and we finally decided to stick with two methods instead of doing all of them but we did try almost everything at least once. Even whale noises!

At the end of the day it is a very personal choice on how you want to approach a breech baby. I feel that our baby will choose how she needs to come to us whether that be by natural birth or c-section. I will try to encourage her to flip but in the end whatever is best for our baby will be a beautiful birth. Many people will say, "Well didn't you try..." or "Oh don't worry she will flip..." get to you. You have the right to prepare yourself for plan B, and no matter what you did or didn't try to do everything happens for a reason!

Here is a list of things I did to try:

I put peppermint Essential Oils on my belly right where her head was - they say babies don't like the cold tingly effect and will go away from where the oil is since they can sense the coolness

Ice pack where the head is and heat near your pubic bone - to encourage her to go towards the warmth and away from the cold

Spinning Babies Inversion - this helps loosen them with gravity and encourages them to flip.

Spinning Babies Breech Tilt - I used an ironing board for this, I would have husband help you!

Yoga - I went to a prenatal class

Make whale noises at the bottom of your belly!

Deep Relaxation and imagery

Swimming - we did some swimming along with underwater hand stands and flips why not try right!?

Webster Certified Chiropractor - this link will help you find one in your area. This is a certified technique that is supposed to help flip breech babies.

EVC External Cephalic Version - Or Manually Turning
My experience with this was some what traumatizing. Mostly emotionally because I was not prepared for the procedure, I did not take any type of pain killers which I would still choose again but I wasn't mentally prepared for the fact that it was going to hurt and be an emotional experience for myself. My advice, take your husband or a good friend for support! I'v heard women say this process was worse then labor!

34 Weeks

Man third trimester is getting hard! Here are some bullet point updates:

- super nauseas, I do not enjoy eating anymore

- I keep our house super cold anywhere from 65-69'F Taylor doesn't like it!

- Getting my shoes on is hard, sometime results in pushing my last meal out TMI sorry

- As you can see from the photo our baby is breach, feet down and butt to the side which is harder to move then a normal frank breech baby (yes we have tried everything from cold packs and whale noises!)

- I think I finally am figuring out how to get some rest at night, this has been a huge emotional relief

- Speaking of Emotional... I'm a grumpy ball baby but trying hard not to be

- Getting VERY excited to meet our little girl

- My favourite thing is she is finally getting hiccups I just love watching and feeling her twitch

- Taylor has finally persuaded me not to work up until my due date, which I had previously planned for. Training clients is just getting too hard on my body and the midwives and my chiropractor feel the baby will have a better chance flipping if I am more relaxed

- We started buying kleenex from Costco!

- Taylor has been an amazing patient loving man during all of my out burst, I am very blessed!

Jersey Baby Headband

I was more then happy with how wonderful these turned out! They looked exactly like the ones off Pinterest which is a score. I made little circled pattern so that I could recreate the flower the same over and over again, and because I'm awful at free handing circles with a pair of scissors.

My Tip - Make pattern consisting of the following sizes of circles:
3 inch
2.75 inch
2.5 inch
2. 25 inch
2 inch
1.75 inch
1.5 inch
1 inch

* I just used my quilters ruler to measure out squares in those sizes and then rounded the edges making perfect circles! *

Dating My Man

This Man has been so amazing to me during this pregnancy. He rubs my feet, rubs my back, helps me get my socks off at the end of the day when it seams to be much to far away. He helps me clean and cook and has truly just been a champ! He has even done surprise spa nights, were talking full on spa in our living room it was glorious.

But getting to the point which is "Dating My Man!"
As my pregnancy comes to a close I am realizing these last two months are the last months we have alone for probably the next 30 years. Kind of insane to think of so I made up this little jar of date night ideas. Our goal is to go on a date each week. I had originally seen this idea on Pinterest and wasn't satisfied with the list of date idea they had so here mine goes:
I'v included dates mostly for winter, some at home, some christmas, and some for after baby.

Christmas:

Maternity Photos

Taylor sweet friend Pax took some photos for us to document this fun time. You can contact her here if you are interested in photos.

You can see how low I am carrying in this picture. She really is just hanging out at the button yet somehow my ribs still hurt and I have a hard time keeping food down now that I'm this big. Crazy how the body can handle growing a little person. We love her like crazy and can't wait for her to come!!

32 Weeks

How far along are you? 32 weeks

Maternity Clothes? Can't go without them!

Ring: Is Off!! It fits but my hands change size through out the day and I find it very uncomfortable.

Sleep: I am usually sore and stir around a lot. Naps are my life saver if I can manage them in between jobs.

Best moments: Foot rubs from the husband!

Missing anything? My Body!! Restful Sleep!!

Movement? She is a little stealthier lately which is odd, but she does move every once in a while still.

Food Cravings: Cereal (I eat it everyday)!! I have been craving Inn-N-Out and Jamba Juice really bad this week. But have been good and not indulged.

Queasy or Sick? When I drink water I usually feel sick which has been a problem.

Gender: Having a girl!!

Symptoms: Hard to drink and eat enough as my body wants without me almost throwing up since my stomach is being smashed so I am very thirsty most the time. Also I seam to be dropping everything lately, it's almost like my hands stop listening to my brain and just let go of stuff!

Belly Button in or Out? Half Out!! So funny just the top portion has popped out were awaiting the rest.

Happy or Moody? I'v cried A LOT this week!

Looking Forward to: Decorating for Christmas and lots of date nights before the baby comes.
